After the Build conference, Microsoft released the Windows Phone SDK 8.0. Developers can go to the Microsoft Download Center page to download it. The web page address is: .

From the description of the page, SDK 8.0 not only provides a development environment for Windows Phone 8.0 and Windows Phone 7.5 platforms, but also includes simulators and testing tools. The requirements are as follows:

  • Supported operating systems:

         Windows 8 (x64) or Windows 8 Pro (x64)

  • hardware:

         4G RAM

         64-bit CPU

  • Windows Phone 8 emulator

Windows 8 Pro or above can only run

The CPU must support 2.Level Address Translation (SLAT)

  • If the operating system and hardware conditions are met, but the requirements of the Windows Phone 8 emulator are not met, the development environment can run, but the Windows Phone 8 emulator will have no effect, and it cannot be deployed or deployed on the Windows Phone 8 emulator. Test the application.
  • Windows Phone SDK 8.0 will be installed in parallel with earlier versions of Windows Phone SDK. There is no need to uninstall the earlier version before starting the installation.
  •  If you have installed Visual Studio Professional, Premium, or Ultimate on your computer, the VS Express for Windows Phone shortcut will not appear. Instead, start the Visual Studio sample as usual, and then use the installed Windows Phone template to create a Windows Phone SDK 8.0 project.
